Just arrived with us is this lovely Vauxhall Viva city car.
Registered in late September 2016 and finished in pale blue metallic with a contrasting charcoal interior, the car has covered just 56,000 miles from new in the hands of two private owners.
This is based, if you go back far enough, on the old Daewoo Matiz. Which itself was based on a Suzuki Alto, and so the Viva has its roots in the Japanese Kei Car (City Car) segment, as well as roots in Japanese engine technology, which is no bad thing.
Being powered by a one litre 3-cylinder petrol engine through a 5-speed manual gearbox, the Viva fulfils the city car role admirably.
And this arguably makes it an ideal first car or learner car.
On the road, the performance is brisk through the gears, and the steering is acceptable light and surprisingly direct. The seats are comfortable, and it whizzes along at 60mph happily enough.
MOT until October 2025, and so ready to drive away.
